OK let's get back to brass tacks. The Windows Security Center could use some tweaking as well, upon startup it tells me that my antivirus software is disabled when it has not yet loaded.

Try this: Take the battery out of your laptop, Whyle the battery is out and the laptop is unplugged Hold the power button down for 30 seconds: this resets the chipset memory on some models After 30 seconds of holding the power button down whyle unplugged, Replace the battery where you found it and power on your laptop.

I went ahead and uninstalled the ISATAP driver -- hoping to reinstall it again -- but now that I've uninstalled it, it is not available for reinstall. I should have thought it through. Anyway, I have searched high and low and am unable to find a place from which I can download the driver. Do you have any suggestions? The PC will not connect to the internet at all, so cannot even access Microsoft or HP's websites to try to repair it. I have uninstalled both devises and rebooted the PC to try get Vista to reinstall but this did not work-no surprise!!!
Most of the comments I have been able to find in my search via my PC with XP say you can disregard this issue but the ISP tech support for my sons provider says that is why his PC with Vista will not connect to the internet.
I have spent hours searching both Microsoft's website and also HP's werbsite for help but have found nothing that is a fix on either site.
I see that this issue is fixed by installing the latest drivers for the Network adapter. I suggest that you download the latest drivers for your Network adapter by downloading from HP website. Enter your product number and download the drivers. Here is a link you can follow:.
